During the shoot, Allure’s creative director Paul Cavaco presented the actress with an Agent Provocateur bustier to wear for the first segment. Jokingly, he recalled a previous photo shoot in November 2006 where he almost had the actress go topless. “At least I brought clothes for you this time,” he quipped. Johansson, who is seen here with Cavaco and hairstylist Garren, retorted with a lighthearted comment, “But you wanted me in my underwear—typical!” If you want to stay up-to-date with the latest beauty news, launches, and trends, make sure to subscribe to The Beauty Bible newsletter.

Johansson admits that getting married and having kids was always a dream of hers, but she never had a specific idea of what it would entail. She recently married Ryan Reynolds in September and prefers to let their love story remain private. While some girls plan out their weddings from a young age, Johansson is content to let her life unfold naturally.

For Johansson, Garren styled a feminine and charming look inspired by Brigitte Bardot. To achieve this, he added volumizing spray to her damp hair, blow-dried it, and set it in hot rollers. Once the rollers were removed, he brushed through the curls and backcombed the hair around the top of her head. Johansson was so pleased with the final result that she exclaimed, “I can’t believe this is my real hair! It’s perfect for any festive occasion.”

According to Stephane Marais, the makeup artist, Scarlett is a stunning woman of the modern era, who inspired him to create a look that would remind us of the 1950s. To give her skin a subtle glow, he used a blend of pinkish-peach blush and bronzer on the cheeks. For one of the photoshoots, he opted for a black liquid liner and shimmery bronze shadow, while for another, he applied a dark brown shadow in the crease and taupe all over the lid. To complete both looks, he added black mascara and nude gloss.

Johansson is like the younger sister among Woody Allen’s frequent actresses like Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow. She mentions that if she were to meet them, they would have a lot to discuss. According to Johansson, women in Allen’s life serve as inspiration for the roles he writes for women on screen. They showcase their neuroses, passions, and both good and bad qualities exceptionally well.

Even though Johansson has appeared in four of Woody Allen’s recent films, she does not consider herself to be his muse. According to her, she only fits into the “young woman” category in his movies and does not inspire his work. Johansson acknowledges that if it wasn’t her, someone else would have filled the role. However, she has taken on new roles as a singer and director. Her album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, which features covers of Tom Waits’ songs, was released in the summer. Additionally, Johansson will make her directorial debut in February with a vignette included in the New York, I Love You anthology.
